One of my favorite makeup looks is wearing a bold lip with a clean eyes and a flawless complexion.  I put together my Top 6 must-have lipsticks for you to try this season.  The colors range from a “Barbie” pink to a vibrant red (Yawza!).  To be honest, these lip smackers have been my go-to staples for years and I carry them with me everywhere I go.  Seriously…next time you see me, I’ll show you my makeup bag; you never know when you’ll need to do a day-to-night-presto-change-o lip application!

Meet Mana Monsour (…aka: the next Jeanie Becker, in my opinion!).  This Persian beauty is a local Vancouver sweet heart and the host of a fab fashion segment called West Coast Style, on Shaw TV.  She recently invited me to join her on set to create some fun hair and makeup looks for a feature with Assignment Fashion (read blog to learn more about Mana and Assignment Fashion…).  All I have to say is…H.O.T.T.T! (Can I get an AMEN!!)

I loved how we went from fresh and natural hair and makeup to super sexy and sophisticated in these last frames.  Simply exquisite, Mana!

HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYONE!!

#1.  Mani & pedi time!.  I love this polish by Essie call “Turquoise and Caicos“; it’s fun and a little unexpected!

#2.  Get lippy!  My FAVE lip color this season is MAC’s Viva Glam Nicki.  It’s an instant energy buster and make you feel happy.  If you’re  not used to wearing vibrant colors on your lips, try a sheer lip gloss in a similar tone.  Rock this lip color with a clean eye (mascara only) and a hint of blush.  I guarantee you will radiate!

#3.  Rock the skinny!  These jeans are from ZARA and they fit like a glove!  They come in a variety of colors (black, grey, yellow, tangerine…) and have a great ankle zip detail.  I have to say, they are the most comfortable skinny jeans I have ever purchased and best of all…they’re only $49!  To ease into the colored jean trend, wear them with neutral colors like camel, brown, black and grey.

#4.  Blazer beam!  Another great staple piece for spring is a peach colored Topshop blazer.  It’s a neutral color, works with EVERY skin tone, and it can be combined with a multitude of other hues (black, navy, burgundy, brown and of course pastels…)!

#5.  What a gem!  I got this beautiful Dogeard turcuoise necklace as a birthday gift from my besty and can’t get enough of it!  I love layering my necklaces and the fact that this is one comes with a healing message, makes wearing it that much more special (turcuoise = wisdom, loyalty and wholeness).  Available at The Bay

#5.  My little kumquat!  The perfect spring scent has to be this Marc Jacob’s Kumquat perfume.  It’s fresh, light and subtle and available in Hibiscus and Rain.  I love the simple packaging as well!  Stop by The Bay to test it out, you’re gonna love it!

I have to say, I quite like Narges with dark hair; it’s very rich and luxurious looking (…so Selma Hayek!).  To put luster back into her locks, I started with her re-growth (…bye-bye grey hair!).  I followed by applying a semi-permenent gloss for color balancing and added shine.  She has SUPER thick and naturally wavy hair and decided to re-shape and de-bulk it for better manageability.

To brighten and warm her complexion I used an peachy/orange based primer (Make Up For Ever HD Primer #4), followed by a sheer foundation and concealer.  I finished her look with mascara, blush and lipgloss – simple as that!  I’d say she looks 10 years younger…

Marga seldom wears makeup so I kept it soft by starting with a very sheer foundation to balance out her complexion.  I wanted to create a dewy look (but with out the dew…) so I dusted a loose highlight shimmer on her cheek bones and bridge of the nose.  To enhance her hazel-green eyes, I applied a lavender eye shadow to her eyelid, added a very thin plum liner to the base of the lash line, and finished off with black mascara.  Last but not least, I gave her a hint of blush and a dab gloss and here is what we ended up with…

Kinda of reminds me of Charlize Theron and Natalie Imbruglia…
