Happy January, Friends! Wow – it’s been a while since I last posted anything on the blog and it feels great to be back! I took some time off to rest, regroup and prioritize a few things. Over the past three months I did a lot of reading, started practicing daily yoga and meditation, and initiated a some really fun projects that I’ve been putting off for far too long now. As a result, I’m feeling inspired, refreshed, free and ready to put myself out there and bloom. I’m fired up and ready to take action toward a more positive 2019.
First up, I’m tweaking my blog. You’re going to notice a few little changes with the content. For example, while I’ll continue to share my style posts, I am now going to focus mainly on my thrifted pieces and sharing how I’ve perfected hi/low styling. I can’t deny that I love thrift shopping and that I’m really good at it – ha! It’s been, and continues to be, a very big part of my style sensibility since I was a kid and am often complimented on my outfits. SO, I figure, why not share the my passion for thrifting and eye for style with all of you. Great style doesn’t have to cost a lot and my intention is to inspire you to make different choices when it comes to how you shop and spend your money. Moreover, I want to show you how you can make previously loved clothing a new treasure in your wardrobe.
Hemlines are getting shorter and it turns out that the babydoll dress is not only reserved for summertime. Yes, it’s a great transitional piece to add to your winter wardrobe, especially when layered with leggings and oversized cardigan sweaters. I scooped this floral minidress up for only $13. The print and colour scheme is neutral and earthy and offers up a cool 70’s vibe; especially when styled it with over the knee suede boots and a black floppy hat like I’ve done here. It’s definitely a fun, feminine and flirty look and the best part of this entire outfit cost less than $190.
For maximum versatility try styling this dress over skinny jeans, ankle boots and a leather jacket in Spring or Fall, and with sneakers and or cute sandals in warmer seasons.
Makeup and hair tutorials are still going to be a regular occurrence on the blog. I am going to share as much as I can to inspire you to celebrate your natural beauty at any age and build up your self-confidence. I am committed to sharing quick and simple beauty tips that will make your “getting ready” routine a little easier and a lot more fun; especially for the busy mamas and professionals on-the-go!
I’m really excited about highlighting more of our beautiful brides too! We are extremely fortunate to work with so many wonderful couples and bridal parties. I realize that I don’t share enough of them and it’s about time I do! Weddings have been a huge part of our business for over 20 years. We work with Vancouver’s top wedding planners and professionals to help make our brides’ wedding day dreams come true. We are an award winning bridal team and we want you to see all of the wonderful humans we get to beautify and work with.
They say picture tell a thousand words. I say, “videos tells the full story”. I’ve finally gotten around to shooting some fun video content for my up and coming Youtube channel. While it’s still a work in progress (we’re currently in post-production and slowly improving my very old and outdated Youtube channel), you can expect to see weekly episodes highlighting my day-to-day life as a beauty and bridal specialist, fashion and lifestyle contributor and of course as a salon owner, mentor and entrepreneur. I hope you find it to be fun, fresh, informative and approachable. This has been a passion project that I’ve been putting off for the last 10 years now and I’m beyond excited to launch it soon. Timing is everything…stay tuned!
That was a lot to share in one post but I am ready to walk into 2019 with purpose and optimism and I hope you’ll join me. I am open and receptive all the good and abundance in the universe. I am fearless and ready to take action toward living my most limitless and purposeful life. I am beaming with light and positivity and am grateful to be rich in love, gratitude, joy, health, creativity, compassion, purpose, spirit and meaningful relationships. I wish the same for all of you and I thank you for your continued love and support.
