Vancouver is so beautiful, especially on a crisp and sunny winter day! We took a stroll around the iconic Brockton Point Lighthouse in Stanley Park and the view of the water and the Lion’s Gate Bridge connecting to the North Shore mountains is so gorgeous and calming. It kind of reminds me of San Francisco!
My look today is once again quite casual, which is fitting considering our location. I’d say this is a great lunch or coffee date look, which can easily be transitioned for cocktails with friends. Simply swap the coat for a leather jacket or trench coat and down size the bag with a clutch.
As you know I love mixing designer brands with “high-street” fashions and thrift store find. I also like to mix prints; it’s my way of injecting #NadittudeTM to an outfit! Let’s start with my exquisite Manolo Blahnik patent leather burgundy pumps – YES! I picked them up at Holt Renfrew while I was in Toronto and when I saw the color, I knew I had to have them. Marsala is the Pantone color of the year and these babies are definitely in the color range to update my wardrobe perfectly and keep me on trend. Plus, this color and style will work with almost everything! I coordinated them with my distressed jeans and leopard print top, then added my plaid print coat, which I pulled during one of my thrift store hauls. It was only $15 and the fit was spot on! I like the idea of layering, and on a colder day, I love wraping myself up in a blanket skarf, (like the one I’m wearing from Aritzia). Option B. would be to layer the plaid coat over my black leather jacket to create a multimedia effect.
A great way to update thrift store or vintage outerwear (in this case my coat), is to replace the buttons with new or vintage ones. You could choose brown or black color, or try metallics like gold, for a little shine.
When mixing prints, remember to stay in the same color family and try to keep the colors neutral. Also, mix no more than three different prints in one outfit so it’s not too overwhelming.
“The Ear Climber”
This ear climber earring, designed by Elsa Corsi, is one of my all time favorite accessory. It’s cool and glamorous all at the same time and adds the perfect amount of sparkle to any outfit. Available in a variety styles and sizes at Jeweliette Jewellery.
Hair and Makeup Details:
We’re seeing a lot of ponytails on the catwalk this Spring 2015, and the sleek ponytails and buns are on fleek! I created mine with a side parting and styled it using KMS “Hair Stay – Styling Gel” for firm hold without flaking.
