Metallics, sequins and glitter was all over the runway this past Fall/Winter and it’s still holding strong for Spring and Summer. This week’s blog post was photographed in front of Vancouvers Waterfall Building, in Kitsilano, which was the perfect setting for this outfit. Here is how I’m wearing the shimmering trends now and how I’m re-working a few of my faves, from seasons past, into my Spring wardrobe.
Remember my Style SacramentTM “DLDB” – Dark, Light, Dull, Bright. When pulling an outfit together, balance is key! In this case, these shimmery blush pink trousers are the statement piece and compliment the polka-dot blouse, which gives the outfit personality. The solid white blazer anchors the outfit and the metalic t-strap pumps and silver accessories add a little sparkle; making this outfit perfectly balanced and cohesive!
Another easy style tip that I created is 5C’s – Casual, Classic, Chic, Charming and Couture. Determine your style category and shop for pieces that represent your individuality. We each can relate to a style that works for our lifestyle (personal and/or professional), and some of us fall into more than one category. I’d say this outfit is a mix of Classic and Chic because it combines timeless cuts done in cool fabrics and in fresh, upbeat colors.
Swap your black blazer for a white one to freshen up your look for Spring and Summer.
I love how the design of this Kaleidolight Palette, from Aerin Beauty, resembles the architecture of this building! So beautiful!
Happy Easter, Everyone!
