Do you ever look at life and the world around you and feel like it’s too big to comprehend? Do you ever feel like it’s hard to determine what’s fact and fiction sometimes, or catch yourself comparing your life to that of others? Do you get lost in who you are, versus what you think society wants you to be? On one hand you say to yourself, ” I have a purpose and can conquer anything I put my heart and soul into”. While on the other hand you feel overwhelmed and “stuck in a rut” and think, “who do I think I am?”. This has been a topic of discussion at the studio lately among my clients and it makes me think of the Sex in the City character, Carrie Bradshaw, who once said, “Eventually all the pieces fall into place
.until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment, and know that everything happens for a reason”. I know that I’m quoting a fictional character here but I couldn’t agree with these words more! I feel like we all just need to live in the moment and do the things that make us smile and feel fulfilled. At the end of the day, we can only control our own behaviors and attitudes, ya know?!
I like to think of myself as a “glass half full” kind of thinker. I believe that thoughts are things; what you put out will come back to you tenfold, so keep it positive! When your clear with your intentions, take thoughtful and calculated risks, and do things with passion and integrity, you can accomplish anything! I started blogging because I wanted to share my creativity, flair for beauty and style and love for life with all of you. My intention has always been (and continues to be) to inspire people and share my perspective in my area of expertise. I want people to know that it’s okay to do things that make you feel special and good about yourself when ever you can. It’s not about WHAT you’re wearing or doing, it’s about HOW, and how it effects you and the people around you! We each are unique and have something special to offer. Let’s face it, when you do YOU well, life’s canvas will paint itself into a masterpiece. It’s all about the NadittudeTM!
This week’s style series brings us to this gorgeous graffiti wall, of our Downtown Vancouver City scape. Daniella and I were so impressed with this artwork and had to use it as a backdrop for our shoot. I don’t know who the artist is that created this piece, all I can tell you is that it’s remarkable to see the work and effort that went into creating this.
I purchased this dress this past Winter at Club Monaco and feel it still works for the summer season. I love the metallic sheen and the way it flows. The triangular “trapeze” cut is extremely comfortable and typically suited for a long and lean silhouette. For structure (and to compliment my body type), I’m wearing a light-weight leather blazer to cover my arms and to define my waist. A sparkly t-strap heel adds an element of interest, elongate my legs and to adds much needed height to my 5’3″ stature.
For a casual summery look, simply swap the leather jacket for a distressed denim jacket or vest, and slip into a casual wedge sandal or flat metallic sandals.

I’m absolutely in LOVE with my new haircut! Although it’s short in the back, I maintained length in the front for style versatility. Plus, it’s going to be super fun to style for summer! We used a dark smokey-brown permanent color at the regrowth area, for depth and dimension, touched up the ends by painting on ribbons of highlights called balayage. This creates a lovely graduation of color and requires little maintenance . I used a 1 inch Kadori curling wand to create a soft bend in the ends, then sprayed the hair with KMS “Hair Play Dry Wax” Spray for dimensional texture.
I leave you with the words of the great William Shakespeare, “The world in mine Oyster, which I with sword will open!”. Shake things up and make things happen, my friends!
