What glitters isn’t always gold. Eu contraire mon freer! What glitters is, in fact, Jeweliette Jewellery — home of Vancouver’s favorite sparkle duo, Elsa and Madalena Corsi. This dynamic and award winning mother-daughter team have been sprinkling their sparkly goodness at countless weddings, runways and special events. They’ve been featured in hundreds of publications across Canada and internationally, and will be showcasing their beautiful jewellery at the Creme de la Creme Grand Wedding Showcase on Sunday, November 8, 2015.
I caught up with these lovelies last week and lucky for me, I picked up a few new custom pieces! One of which was named after me!! (I’m blushing!)
When did you start your business and how did you come up with the concept?
Our shop was born in 1991 on a cart in Lougheed Mall. Back then our “thing” was hand painted leather jewelry! Since then we’ve evolved our collection, changed locations twice and our store name once. (our long-time clients will remember that before we were Jeweliette, we were known as Sharp and Friends).
What can clients expect when they shop in your store?
A different shopping experience! What you see is not always what you get in our shop. Although we have some beautiful ready to wear pieces for sale, it’s also a place where inspirations and ideas evolve and unfold into custom pieces and special projects!
Where else is Elsa Corsi jewellery sold?
Who does the buying and how do you determine what to bring into your store?
In the shop we highlight the Elsa Corsi collection. The other collections that we bring in are chosen collectively, mostly by Madalena, based on their beauty design and value!
What are the staple pieces you think every woman should have in their wardrobe?
A good black dress and heels! With the right accessory changes, you can go very far with this!
Based on my 7 Style Sacraments, what would you say that your style category is – Causal, Classic , Chic, Charming or Couture? (you can choose more than one)
Elsa: Classic — I’m not much of a shopper so I try to choose things that I can really go the distance with and re-accessorize!
Which do you prefer: New York or LA? Paris or Milan? Coffee or Tea? Wine or Champagne?
New York/ Paris / Coffee/ Champagne
What’s next for Jeweliette Jewellery? Any new projects coming up?
We’ve recently re-launched our Elsa Corsi website. It features all of our upcoming trunk shows and online shop. We even have a “sample sale shop” where you can purchase sample item that are deeply discounted, one-of’s and some fond farewells.
That was such a fun afternoon – thank you, Ladies! If you are a bride-to-be or know a friend that is getting married, I encourage you to stop into Jeweliette Jewellery to explore your options. It’s truly one of Vancouver’s local gems (…no pun intended) and offers everything from big and sparkly to sweet and simple! And be sure to check them out on Instagram (@JewelietteShop) too!
