Last Fall, I was involved in a pop-up blow-dry event at Eastwood Cycle with AG Hair. It was an incredible event that helped raise funds for an organization called Women Leading Change. I met so many wonderful people there, one of them being Vancouver based Jewelry Designer, Leah Alexander. I couldn’t stop noticing all of the beautiful jewelry she was wearing and loved everything about her style. OK
yes, I’ll admit that it was “girl crush at first sight”. We hit it off instantly and I had to schedule a photo shoot at her Gastown design studio to learn more about her. You all should know by now that when I’m obsessed with something, I want to share it with everyone, right?! I’m sure after you read this post you’ll understand my obsession with this pretty lady!
When did you start your business and how did you come up with the concept?
I started my business almost 10 years ago (big anniversary approaching!) and I decided to turn my passion for gemstones into a business!
Tell us about your beautiful studio space and what clients can expect when they shop in your studio?
We’ve been in our Gastown studio for over 2 years now, clients can expect to visit a beautiful historical building with a big open floor plan where you can take a peek at a busy production area and a display of finished jewels.
What inspires you when designing a new collection? Tell us more about your collection this season.
I find so much inspiration from the gemstones themselves, from their shapes and colours. You can expect to see beautiful pastels in the new Spring collection, such as rose quartz, which happens to be Pantone’s colour of the year!
Who are your style inspirations/icons and how would you describe your style?
What are the staple pieces you think every woman should have in their wardrobe?
Everyone should have a pair of ear climbers in their wardrobe. Icing on the cake, even if that’s just with a white t-shirt!
What are 5 beauty products that you can’t live without?
Which do you prefer: New York or LA? Paris or London? Coffee or Tea? Wine or Champagne?
New York, Paris, Coffee, Wine.
What’s your definition of being a confidence woman?
