Happy October, Everyone! I can’t believe how quickly September snuck away from us and that Halloween is just around the corner – YAWZA!! I’m hanging on to the last glimpses of sunshine for as long as possible because as soon as we know it, the rainy days of November will be upon us! Don’t get me wrong, I love the Fall season, but I know that I’ll be yearning for the sun in no time. So I coped a squat near a ravine, to reflect and give thanks for my accomplishments thus far, and to envision the wonderful things that are before me! Here’s what that looked like…
As mentioned in my previous posts, I enjoy the look of leather, and this week I’m working with my leather shorts. These pleated, chocolate-brown leather shorts, by Mackage S/S 2013 collection, are exquisite! They are a fantastic transitional piece to have in the wardrobe because they work beautifully for all seasons, expecially if you live in Vancouver where the temperature is fairly mild! The color is neutral which can be easily styled for Fall and Winter by incorporating an opaque stockings, heels or knee high boots, a knit turtleneck and a cute hat. Rewind back to Spring and Summer season and simply wear them bare legged with flats or wedges, a racer-back tank and a load of accessories! For this week’s style series, I decided to coordinate them with this pretty and feminine lace top, to add texture and contrast, a metallic heel (which I could easily swap with my tan colored “Josseline” ankle booted from Aldo for casual style) , and my gorgeous Louis Vuitton “Eva Clutch”.
I believe it’s very important to curate a well rounded wardrobe that will work for all seasons and occasions. I like to select garments that look expensive, will stand the test of time, and keep me on budget!
In keeping with the natural theme of this post, I kept my makeup style is pretty basic. I like to keep my skin looking even and warm, my lips soft and neutral, and my eye clean and simple. Everything else is bonus!
I love the parallel of fashion and nature. To me, this tree bark resemble the pleating details in the shorts, as does the color – so beautiful!
