This week’s makeup tutorial features products from Clarins and Stila Cosmetics. With all the flowers in bloom around Vancouver, I had to use my Clarins Garden Escapes 6 Color Eye Palette . This limited edition palette contains 6 eye shadow shades of pink, pearl white, two very springtime inspired greens and an intense taupe. Follow along with this week’s TruTorialTM sesh, then be sure to take a self and post in on Instagram and tag me! I’d love to see your look!
Before and After
Step 1: Prepare the face with moisturizer, primer and foundation.
I started by hydrating my skin with Clarins Hydra Quench Creme for Normal to Dry Skin. This moisturizer was voted the winner product of the 2014 ELLE Beauty Grand Prix in the “Daytime Facial Moisturizers, between $48 to $90” category! To perfectly even out my complexion, I’m using Clarins Everlasting Foundation #105 . This foundation provides long lasting coverage for up to 18 hours. Great for wedding season!
Step 2: Prepare the eyes with primer
Dab a small amount of Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base onto the eye lid. This product extends he wear of the eye shadow and energizes the eye.
Step 3: Apply base color onto the eye lid.
Using a wide flat shadow brush (Mint Brush #22), apply the pearly white shade onto the entire eye lid, to brighten they eyes.
Step 4: Contour the eyes.
Using a small domed brush (Mint Brush #24), apply the darks shade of green in tot he outer corner of the eye and into the crease. Apply the same color onto the lower lash line, to mirror the eye lid.
Step 5: Apply shadow to the center of the eye lid.
Lightly apply the darker shade of pink, of the “Garden Escape” palette, to the center of the eye for a hint of color. You can also use this shade to blend out and soften the contour.
Step 6: Line the eye lid.
Using Clarins Khol Pencil in Intense Green #9 , line the upper lid starting at the base of the lash line. Step 1: Hold the outer part of the eye taut then begin drawing on the line, using short strokes and starting from the middle of the eyelid. Work your way toward the outer corner of the eyes and apply the liner slightly beyond the outer corner of the eye lid in an upward possession. Step 2: Next, draw a line, starting from the inner corner of the eye, to connect to the liner to the middle of the eye. You want to ensure that the line in the inner corner of the eye is thinner than the line at the outer corner of the eye, as it creates a almond shape.
Step 7: Curl lashes and apply mascara
Before applying mascara, be sure to use concealer to brighten under the eyes. Then fill in the eyebrows as needed.
Step 8: Apply blush
Step 9: Line the waterline.
Rim the waterline with Clarins Khol Pencil in Intense Green #9. Using the lightest green eye shadow shade in the “Garden Escape” palette, create a shadow liner along the lower lash line and draw it on with an angled liner brush (Mint Brush #26).
To complete the makeup, I used Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in “Belissima”. This matt finish and color worked perfectly with look.
