As the saying goes, “No rain. No Flowers”, and while many of us would rather not experience those gloomy days, we have to remember that we will never grow without them. This sentiment comes from a place of personal experience. I know I’ve had my share of very emotional days over the past four months; particularly since April. Within the many happy, confident, joyful, encouraging and hopeful days, I’ve seen some days of sadness, frustration, resentment, emptiness and confusion. This is probably due to the fact that my husband and I have experienced some significant losses, setbacks and external drama that distracted us and really brought us down. While we’re both healthy and our love for one another is stronger than ever, these roadblocks led me to do a lot of decluttering and “pruning” of sorts. I began meditating (praying), soul searching and cleansing to gain much needed clarity and to lighten the weight. I came to a point where I decided to change my attitude and only surround myself, my thoughts and my home with things that serve a purpose and bring joy. Thus, spending more time on taking care of my well being and letting go of the negative external stuff. I turned a new leaf and started focusing on the good — the lovely things in my home, the real relationships I’ve cultivated and nurtured, and the many accomplishments I’ve worked hard to achieve. I stopped being so hard on myself and people pleasing, and slowly began to bloom again.
Don’t be alarmed…I’ve been feeling much better, thanks to the help of my friends, mentors and faith. Honestly, I’m so grateful that these feelings surfaced because I’ve learned and grown so much as a result. The biggest lessons I’ve learned are A) When we come from a place of gratitude and not expectations, everything will fall into place. B) Timing is everything and time heals everything. It sounds cliche but it’s true. And C) It’s not always about the happy ending, it’s about the story. And I choose to make my story one of positivity, resilience, compassion, courage and faith.
I spent the afternoon with my friend, Daniella Guzzo, a few weeks back to shoot content for my blog. Shooting with Daniella, and all of the other photographers I work with, is something that brings me great joy. Not only do I get to catch up with fellow boss babes, it allows me to express my thoughts and love for fashion with all of you.
This dress is multi-functional, multi-seasonal and is a breeze to wear! It’s black, fit comfortably and loosely skims the body. AND, it’s one-piece, which is a not brainer, and perfect for traveling! I’ve styled it casually here, however it can transition beautifully for Fall with an oversized denim jacket and angle boots, or for more evening with strappy heels and a clutch. What else can I say about this simple yet very versatile piece?

I’m a lover of Converse and these are my new white-on-white Converse sneakers . I normally get them in the canvas fabric but this time I opted for leather as they look more elevated and polished. These are definitely a capsule wardrobe staple!
Enjoy your day, Everyone, and please take a moment to stop and smell the pretty flowers!
