I’m at Cypress Mountain this week and the forecast is calling for Punk inspired fashion! I’m following the catwalk’s lead this Fall/Winter by incorporating leather, plaid, mesh and black to my wardrobe, as well as edgy metal details in my accessories and footwear!
With September being a transitional season, I combined my summer cut-off shorts with a few of my new fall/winter threads to coordinate this fun back-to-school style idea for students! This black lightweight mesh sweater is a fantastic all-season and all-ages piece. Layer it over a black camisole or tank and incorporate it with classic cropped trouser pants and Sam Edelman “Smithfield” heels and you’re ready for the office. For a night out, try wearing this top and vest with leather pants, stiletto heels and a metal detail clutch like this Valentino Rock Stud Flap Clutch.
The sexy and short blunt bob, with soft volume, is one of this seasons hottest cuts. I’m totally obsessed with and inspired by the bleached out blonde look that Rita Ora is sporting. If that’s not your style, try incorporating blonde highlights to your ombre to brighten up the face! I styled my hair using KMS California “Dry Wax” to create dimensional texture and lived in hair!
Bold eyes and oxblood lips are the rage in makeup this season! Here’s how I got this look…
- I started by applying Make Up For Ever HD Primer #0 on my face to prep the skin for foundation. To even out my complexion, I applied Make Up For Ever Face and Body Foundation #32 (a sheer water-based mineral formula that provides a natural, satin finish) with Mint Brush #10 . I’m a huge fan of using makeup to enhance your natural and allowing your skin to show through your foundation, rather than covering it up. This foundation is one of my must-have makeup essentials!
- To warm up my complexion and contour my face, I applied bronzing powder below the cheek bones, jawline and onto my forehead using Mint Brush #16 . I then added MAC Powder Blush in “Fleur Power” to add color to the apples of my cheeks, using Mint Brush #46.
- On my eyelids, I blended on MAC Fluidline in “CopperThorn” using my finger, then lightly swept MAC Shadow “Amber Lights” and “Mylar” to the inner corner of the eye, to intensify the Fluidline color, and to highlight my brow bone. Rather than creating the typical “cat eye” on the upper lid, I lined my lower lash line with MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner in “Black Swan”. I used Mint Brush #26 to drag out the line upward at the outer corner of the eye.
- For an intense red lip, I applied Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense in #42
