Tree Print Sweatpants: All Things Fabulous, Kiss and Makeup | Denim Jacket: American Eagle | Leather Jacket: Winners | Rain Boots: Michael Kors | Orange Cashmere Fishermans Ribbed Toque: Kiss and Makeup
Last week was Canadian Thanksgiving, and Daniella and I decided to go on road trip to shoot a few outfits in various locations down in the US of A! We had such a blast and managed to make it back in time for dinner with our families. Here’s a look at one of our “on-location” looks…
Layering is an ideal way of dressing for Fall, if you live in Vancouver, because the weather can turn from cold and rainy to warm and sunny at any given moment. This is an example of how I would dress on a casual Sunday or if I’m heading to Whistler or the States for the weekend; comfortable, casual and coordinated. Let’s start with my pants. I spotted these adorable tree-print sweatpants by All Things Fabulous at Kiss and Makeup in North Vancouver, and had to have them! I don’t do sweatpants often because they have a tendency to make me look frumpy. My solution to his is to add structure on the top; hence my leather jacket. Leather instantly elevates the look and makes you look über cool, so I layered it over a denim jacket, for added texture and dimension. Another tip is to add something metallic or shimmery to the outfit for a hint of glam. I found this crushed-copper sweater in my closet, and to be honest, I don’t recall where I got it from, but adds just the right amount of shine and complements the colors in the pants. ( TREND ALERT: Check out this Pacific Centre Sunday Occasion Blog post, from a few weeks back, to spot the metallic sweater trend we saw on the runway…)
On my feet, I slipped on these crock-print rain boots, by Michael Kors (
a rain city staple) to complete the look. My alternate shoe, for a non-rainy day, would be my Converse sneakers (…if you’re running errands in the city) or cozy Ugg boots (
après-ski). My pièce de résistance is this orange cashmere toque, by New Scotland, which I also purchased from Kiss and Makeup. I was instantly drawn to it’s fun and vibrant color and had to add it to my hat collection!
Metallic tones are a hot trend in makeup this season. It creates a soft glow and is appropriate for day or evening. Here is what I’m wearing:
Rock on, my friends!
