My beautiful mamma is celebrting her 65th birthday this Sunday, and to commemorate this milestone occasion, I thought a surprise trip to San Francisco would be perfect to treat my mom, seeing as she had never been to San Fran before! So I called my big sis, Milena, in Edmonton to tell her about my idea and she was totally on board. Unbeknownst to my mom, the scheming began, and next thing she knew it, we all boarded a flight heading straight to the Golden City!

There is so much to see and so much history in San Francisco aka: “The Paris of the West” (read more here
) ! From the moment we arrived, we hit the pavement and explored the city by foot (and trolly) — West Beach and Little Italy; Cow Hallow and the Union Street Shops; Haight and Ashbury; Fisherman’s Warf and Lombard Street (The Crookedest Street) ; Union Square and China Town
we did it all! We crossed the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge and spent an afternoon in the quaint boating community of Sausalito. It was honestly such an amazing weekend! We even got to catch the opening night of “I Love Lucy” at the SHN Curran Theatre , courtesy of my sister (Thanks, Mil!)

Outfit:
As I mentioned above, San Fran is a walking City; and walk we did! Their are definitely no shortages of hills in this City and although the weather is quite mild, it can switch from cloudy and foggy, to sunny and warm in an instant. Therefore, comfy shoes and light weight clothes that can be easily layered, are ideal! When I packed for this trip, I made sure everything was inter-changeable. For example, I could live in this red plaid Kenneth Cole shirt (also see here for in my Kiss and Makeup blog post) and these Maison Scotch cotton trousers. To take this outfit from day to dinner, I simply swapped out of my converse sneakers for my black suede Aldo “Josseline” ankle booties downsized my tote for my Louis Vuitton “Eva Clutch” and lined my eyes with black Kohl pencil – Voila! To dress up my plaid shirt, I switched up my pants for my Arizia “Daria Leggings“, added my clutch and black booties and instead of wearing my leather jacket, I slipped into my wool multi-media trench coat.

Makeup:
When I’m travelling, especially when it’s with carry-on luggage, I like to keep my makeup routine easy and simple, yet striking! So I stick to my Style ScaramentTM #6: “Five-in-5” – that’s five steps in 5 minutes! (Primer, Foundation, Bronzer, Mascara and Lipstick). A strong colored lip is a makeup essential for me and while I have a few go-to shades of red, I came across this blazing beauty at MAC called “Damn Glamorous”. It’s a pink-based shade of red that’s matte in texture, which lends itself to being more opaque, vibrant and wears all day.

Do you have any relation to Frank Albano? He would be your mother’s age. Back in the sixties he was an artist and made anti-war pictures he also recorded two single record in 1965. And he made in Tarot decks cause DLB no tarot in 1967 and 8. Just wondering.
Thanks
