It was a cool and foggy Winter’s day in Vancouver. Daniella and I were wandering around, location scouting, and in doing so we discovered the most beautiful spot to shoot this week’s holiday inspired style shoot.
“Not all those who wander are lost” – J.R.R.Tolkien
It’s vintage “1920’s/boho-chic” for the win, this holiday season. This outfit is seriously everything right now! It works at any age, for every body type and It’s appropriate for any holiday work function; be it a cocktail party or a New Years Eve bash. The color scheme is rich and neutral, and combines soft, luxurious fabrics with shimmery and sparkly textures. These cropped velvet trousers are from Anthropologie. They’re ideal because they have an elastic waist band, deep side pockets (which is always a bonus!), and simply put, they’er super comfortable. They’re great for travel and can be combined so many different ways, for added value. AND, I got them on sale for only $39, which is always helpful on the budget this time of year!
This vintage butterfly top is one that I’ve had in my collection for several years. It has a flattering V-Neck shape and drapes over the body effortlessly. The colour tones within the sequin pattern play well with the olive green pants and offers a nice blend of practicality with romance and whimsy. And the crystal embellished peep-toe heels (which are from Zara a few seasons ago) and the navy clutch purse really bring the entire look together seamlessly. Overall, this look is elevated, luxe and offers everything you need to be comfortable and stylish during the Christmas festivities.
I hope you enjoyed viewing this style post. Daniella and I had so much fun shooting at this location and I absolutely loved putting this outfit together; I think it’s my new favorite. This ensemble is ideal for that social butterfly who wants to look stylish and glitzy all while being comfortable and practical.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! I hope you get to enjoy some quality time with family and friends — maybe even a little quiet time on your own.
