I recently attended Estée Lauder’s Spring 2015 media launch and I’m thrilled to be featuring a few of their fabulous new beauty products in this week’s makeup TruTorialTM. They partnered with famed fashion house, André Courrèges; renouned for pioneering the MOD fashion movement of the 1960’s. The collection is spectacular and the packaging embodies Courrèges’s cool, modern and futuristic esthetic. Inspired by the clean packaging, I created this “less is more” makeup look, with a focus on glowing skin, strong brow and naturally extended lashes…
Step 1: Moisturizer, Primer and Foundation
Start by applying primer on clean and lightly moisturized skin. I’m using Make Up For Ever Step 1 Equalizer Hydrating Primer ($43). To even out the complexion, I applied Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation ($50), using a foundation brush, then lightly contour the face with Bronzing Powder (MAC Bronzing Powder – $25).
Step2: Eye Shadow Primer
Dispense a small drop of MAC Pre + Prime Eye 24 Hour Extend Eye Base ($22) onto your finger and lightly blend it on the entire eye lid. This humidity and sweat resistant primer provides for crease proof and long lasting eye shadow.
Step 3: Eye Shadow
To dress my eyes, apply this aqua-silver Courrèges Estée Lauder Eye Amplifier ($29) onto my eye lid using a flat eyeshadow brush, like this Mint Brush #22. Using the same shadow and a domed brush (Mint Brush #24), rim the lower lash line, as seen below.
Step 4: Mascara Primer and Mascara
Curl the eye lashes using an eyelash curler, then apply a mascara primer. I’m trying Estée Lauder’s newest Little Black Primer. It claims to tint, amplify and set the the mascara, and it really does seems to make a difference with the length of my lashes, after I coated them with mascara!
Step 5: Concealer
Apply concealer under the eyes to brighten and eliminate any imprecations around the eyes.
Step 6: Cream Blush
To create a natural glowing complexion, apply this Estée Lauder Pure Color All-Over Illuminator, from their Limited Edition “Shimmering Nude” – Bronze Goddess collection. Apply this shimmering pearlescent highlight to the cheek bones and temple, then lightly blend into the skin with your fingers.
Step 7: Brow Pencil
Fill in the eye brows with Stila All Day Precision Glide Brow Pencil . It’s waterproof, transfer-proof and smudge resistant.
Lightly feather the product onto the brow for a lighter, more natural effect. Use the spooly end of the pencil to groom and shape the brows. Also, be sure to select a shade that is the same or one shade lighter than your natural brow color.
Step 8: Eye Brightening Pencil
Fill in the water line with Make Up For Ever Concealer Pencil. This brightens the eyes, make them appear larger and eliminated any reddness.
Step 9: Completed Look
To complete this look, I applied Estée Lauder’s new Pur Envy Lipstick in “Discreet” on my lips. Overall this look is very fresh and demure, and extremely easy to achieve. If you want to add a little more drama to the eye makeup, simply line the upper lid with black liquid liner, to create a retro 60’s cat-eye effect. Another ides is to add black eyeliner to the upper and lower waterline, along with a few individual, which will create a sleek and edgy look.
Enjoy your weekend, Everyone!
